Most of Youngstown State's online nursing students live and train in Ohio, and each part of the state opens its doors to NP students differently. Northeast Ohio's big systems share one scheduling platform with fixed request windows, several Columbus and Cincinnati systems match students themselves, and the Mahoning Valley's largest hospital operator publishes no current NP process. What each region guide covers
Every region guide starts from the map, with counties, larger towns and population, then takes the hospitals and health systems one by one under their current owners: which post a route for NP students from outside schools, what those pages say, and which post none at all. Community health centers and HRSA shortage designations come next, since underserved counties are often where a primary care preceptor has room for a student, followed by how the region's settings line up with YSU's primary care and acute care practicums.

Do I need to train near Youngstown?
No. YSU's NP programs are online, and its FAQ encourages you to find preceptors near where you live and work. Students across Ohio train in their own region.
Which Ohio health systems name YSU?
According to their own pages, Cleveland Clinic lists YSU among schools eligible for graduate nursing placement, Akron Children's lists YSU for family NP students, and Summa Health lists YSU among its graduate nursing partners.
Are rural Ohio counties covered?
