YSU online nursing students outside Ohio
Youngstown State accepts online nursing students only from a few states, and your practicum hours have to happen in one of them. How to read the state guides
YSU's sources agree on Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. They disagree on the fourth state: the 2026-27 catalog, the graduate handbook revised in August 2026, the certificate pages and YSU's program map name Michigan, while the online MSN program pages name Indiana. Can Indiana residents enroll in YSU's online NP programs?
YSU's online MSN pages say yes, but its 2026-27 catalog, graduate handbook, certificate pages and program map name Michigan instead. Get written confirmation from YSU admissions before you apply from Indiana.
Can I relocate after I start?
YSU's program map says relocating to another state may restrict or affect your progression and asks you to notify your advisor right away. Check the state first.
Which RN license do my practicums need?
One that is active and unencumbered where your practicum hours happen, as well as where you are licensed and work, per YSU's handbook. A multistate license from a compact state may already reach the other compact states on YSU's list.
Does YSU say its programs meet licensure rules in my state?
It posts no state findings for its nursing programs. The board of nursing where you intend to work as an NP is the office that can answer.
